Kid Cudi is standing out from the crowd for a reason other than his music. He appeared on SNL in an ensemble that he says was a nod to the late great Kurt Cobain, frontman from Nirvana. Since then, he has taken it to another level.

Tonight, he donned an ornate all lace outfit to the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards (the CFDA Awards, for short), and caught the eye of everyone. PEOPLE reported that Cudi debuted a design by one of the nominees of the evening. In the "American Emerging Designer of the Year" category, Eli Russell Linnetz is up for the award.
