The strongest parts of With Love, Meghan are when Meghan Markle is cooking.
“I love cooking, I love being able to make something and be creative, but I love feeding people,” Meghan says in the sixth episode. “Maybe that’s a mom thing, but even before I had kids, I just loved the idea of being able to see someone go [gasps] ‘That’s so good!’ and know you were a part of that.”
Here, an episode-by-episode guide to all the food Meghan makes in her Netflix series:
Episode 1, “Hello, Honey!”

Daniel Martin joins Meghan in episode one, but before he arrives, she pulls together some snacks for him, including homemade truffle popcorn. “The joy of hostessing for me is surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of their whole experience from morning ‘til evening,” Meghan says.
Later in the episode, together, they artfully plate a crudité platter, cook single skillet spaghetti (which Meghan calls a “family favorite”), and decorate a honey lemon layer cake with raspberry. They also create beeswax candles.

Episode 2, “Welcome to the Party”

Actress Mindy Kaling is the guest in the second episode, during which Meghan instructs her on how to throw a garden-themed kids’ birthday party.
Meghan cooks Mindy a frittata before she arrives, and plates a yogurt parfait topped with her homemade blackberry preserve. “These vines were here actually when we moved in,” Meghan explains as she picks berries at her house. “This is sorta what inspired my jam and preserve making.”
Together, Mindy and Meghan make “easy, cute sandwiches,” tulip toasts, and ladybug crostinis.

Episode 3: “Two Kids from LA”

The most robust cooking episode is the show’s third, during which chef Roy Choi teaches Meghan how to cook kimchi, quickles, tempura fried chicken, ramen salt, Korean “Crying Tiger” sauce, and soy ginger sauce. “I feel very accomplished today I must say,” Meghan comments at the end of the episode as she takes out her iPhone to snap a photo.
Before Choi arrives on set, the Duchess also bakes him homemade donuts.

Episode 4: “Love is in the Details”

Meghan’s pal Delfina Blaquier appears in the fourth episode, but before she arrives, Meghan brews her sun tea and bakes homemade dog biscuits for her friend to bring home. The Sussexes’ late dog, Guy, serves as taste tester. “I would do anything for Guy and he knows it,” Meghan says. “He can have whatever he wants, cause he is whatever kind of guy you need him to be, depending on the day. My sweet guy, my silly guy, my saucy little guy. Always my spoiled guy…”
Together, Blaquier and Meghan bake focaccia and toss together a pasta salad.

Episode 5: “Surprise and Delight”

When Abigail Spencer and Kelly McKee Zajfen visit Meghan in the fifth episode she pulls together a lunch that feels “like a Nancy Meyers movie.” They salt-bake fish with roasted tomatoes, and Meghan creates another crudité platter, and freezes flowers in ice cubes for drink decorations.
“I never let a guest arrive without something on the table,” Meghan explains. “My girlfriends would absolutely expect that I have something to feed them. We have a veggie platter, crudités, every day in our house.”

Episode 6: “The Juice Is Worth the Squeeze”

As Meghan prepares to host game night with her friends, she invites Chef Ramon Velazquez over to help her set up a taco bar. First she bakes plantain chips, then Velazquez teaches Meghan his chicken tinga tacos recipe, as well as how to make halibut ceviche with leche de tigre and salsa norteña.
The Duchess also dehydrates citrus and mixes palomas and margaritas for her friends to sip on as they play mahjong. “When’s the cookbook coming?” a friend asks Meghan in this episode, to which she responds, “I haven’t even thought about something like that!”

Episode 7: “Elevating the Everyday”

Tatcha co-founder Vicky Tsai teaches Meghan recipes for both potstickers and a Japanese polishing face mask in the penultimate episode.
When they whip up the potstickers, they only create the filling, not the dough. “I love and appreciate that you are not telling me that I need to make the dumpling wrapper,” Meghan says. “Just because you can’t do everything, doesn’t mean you don’t want to do some things, and the some things is where a lot of that love can come in—so we make the filling, it still feels personal, you’re not losing extra credit. I know both of us like extra credit, we like to get the gold star, you’re not losing the gold star by not making the dumpling wrapper!”

Episode 8: “Feels Like Home”

To prepare for a family and friends brunch, Meghan’s inspiration, Alice Waters, helps her dish up a salad, pesto, and tomato quiche. Meghan also makes crepes and floral cookies, mixes she will sell as part of the first As Ever launch.
