Rosé Ends Lady Gaga’s Chart-Topping Streak as “Apt.” Returns to No. 1

Rosé and Bruno Mars are back at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart this week as their smash hit “Apt.” rises from No. 2 to reclaim the throne.

The ranking highlights the most-consumed songs worldwide, excluding U.S. sales and streams, as its name relies. As it rises to the summit, the popular cut knocks off another Mars collaboration, “Die with a Smile” with Lady Gaga, which had held the top spot for weeks and also ranks among the most successful tunes in the history of the tally.

"Apt." Extends Its Record as the Longest-Running No. 1

As it surges to the summit once more, “Apt.” now boasts 16 total weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., and it extends its record as the longest-running leader in the ranking’s history.

The track had already made history with its lengthy stay in the penthouse, and this latest achievement only extends its dominance.

By comparison, the second-longest-running No. 1 in the chart’s history is Mariah Carey’s holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which topped the tally for 14 weeks. That number may very well grow again when 2025 nears its end.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars Fall to No. 2 After a Milestone Week

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die with a Smile” drops to No. 2 after ruling the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart last frame.

That stint at No. 1 was particularly special, as it marked the track’s tenth week leading the ranking. While it slips this time around, the single is still one of the most-consumed songs outside the U.S.

"Apt" Climbs to No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200

Beyond its success on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., “Apt.” also rises on the Billboard Global 200, a ranking that does include American sales and streaming data.

The song advances from No. 4 to No. 2 this frame, landing just behind “Die with a Smile,” which bounces back to No. 1. Last week, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” was in charge, but it falls to No. 4 as Mars and Gaga reclaim the top position.

Rosé Continues to Chart Across Billboard’s Rankings

On the Hot 100, the all-encompassing U.S. songs ranking, “Apt.” improves from No. 7 to No. 6, nearing its all-time peak of No. 3. The track also climbs on the Streaming Songs chart (No. 20 to No. 13) and hits a new high on Adult Pop Airplay list (No. 8 to No. 7).

The smash also drops on a few rankings. It slips on Digital Song Sales (No. 6 to No. 9), Radio Songs (No. 4 to No. 6), and Pop Airplay charts, where it steps down from No. 1 to No. 2 after previously ruling.
