Dave Chapelle released his final comedy special with Netflix and it wasn’t without controversy. In his stand up Chapelle made jokes about Transgender Women as well giving a heartfelt story about a transgender friend of his that passed away. The calls for Netflix to remove the special have continued to grow and expand as more and more people became aware of the special. In the heart of the controversy is whether or not Dave Chapelle or any comedian should be allowed to make jokes about transgender people.

In response to the Netflix brass not taking down the content, several Netflix employees organized a walk-out over the special. Ashlee Marie Preston ,one of the organizers of the protest, reached out to Dave Chapelle about scheduling a discussion on the perceived harm of his special , but didn’t hear back.

It doesn’t seem as either Dave Chapelle or Netflix are going to budge on this. and Dave has his supporters as well.
