Kendrick Lamar Under Increasing Pressure After Beyoncé's Halftime Show

All eyes were on Kendrick Lamar after NFL fans witnessed an epic halftime performance by the queen herself, Beyoncé.

As a result, fans expressed their honest opinions about the upcoming performance of the iconic rapper, questioning whether he could pull off a show-stealing act like the "Single Ladies" singer did.

During halftime of the Baltimore Ravens and Houston TexansChristmas Day game, the Grammy winner took center stage with an electrifying performance, even singing some songs from her album "Cowboy Carter."

Since the album’s release in March 2024, it was the first time that Beyoncé sang the tracks "16 Carriages," "Ya Ya," "Riiverdance" and "Jolene" live.

Queen Bey also performed her song "Texas Hold ‘Em" with her 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, sparking plenty of buzz about her show.

As fans dubbed the halftime show as the "Beyoncé Bowl," several others are now eagerly anticipating what Kendrick Lamar will bring to the table after the remarkable performance by the female singer-songwriter.

On X, fans insisted that the "Not Like Us" rapper had a tough act to follow and it might be challenging for him to top the performance for the upcoming 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.

“This [expletive] was impressive. What is Kendrick Lamar gonna do for the Super Bowl to top this? Kudos to Beyoncé and her team,” one wrote.

“Kendrick Lamar got some big shoes to fill, that’s for sure. He better call Beyoncé’s team for some help!” another chimed in.

“I can't wait for Kendrick Lamar. Beyoncé did her thing,” a fan remarked.

Furthermore, the performance sparked Lamar-Beyoncé memes.

Others boldly expressed how they preferred to skip the Lamar performance and let Queen Bey take center stage again.

“Respectfully, I would LOVE for @Beyoncé to do another halftime show. Please replace Kendrick Lamar with Bey! Please and thank you," a commenter wrote.

The same goes for a fan who said, “Cancel Kendrick Lamar; we want Beyoncé for the Super Bowl.”

As mentioned, the 37-year-old rapper will perform in Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. It follows a star-studded halftime show from Usher and guests Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., Ludacris, Lil Jon and will.i.am in 2024.

According to the New York Post, in addition to Kendrick Lamar as the headliner, the Super Bowl LIX lineup will also feature Grammy-winning singer Jon Batiste, R&B vocalist Ledisi, Christian recording artist Lauren Daigle and jazz musician Trombone Shorty.
