Jonathan Majors’ Ex-Girlfriend Drops Assault and Defamation Lawsuit After Reaching Settlement

Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, has officially dropped her assault and defamation lawsuit against the actor following a settlement. Attorneys for both Majors and Jabbari filed a joint motion on Thursday in Manhattan federal court to dismiss the case with prejudice.

Jabbari’s attorney, Brittany Henderson, confirmed on Friday that the lawsuit had been “favorably settled,” although she declined to provide further details. Henderson praised Jabbari’s strength throughout the process, stating, "Grace Jabbari has exhibited tremendous courage throughout this very long and difficult process. We hope that she can finally put this chapter behind her and move forward with her head held high."

Majors' representatives did not respond to requests for comment.

The lawsuit, filed by Jabbari in March, accused the 35-year-old actor, known for his roles in Marvel and Creed III, of subjecting her to a pattern of physical and verbal abuse during their relationship. She alleged assault, battery, defamation, and emotional distress. The suit came months after Majors was convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment stemming from an altercation in Manhattan.

In the incident, which began in the back of a chauffeured car and escalated onto the streets, Jabbari claimed Majors hit her head with an open hand, twisted her arm behind her back, and fractured her middle finger. Majors, however, argued that Jabbari had become enraged and aggressive, claiming he was merely trying to retrieve his phone and get away safely.

Although Majors avoided jail time, he was sentenced to complete a yearlong counseling program in April. Following the guilty verdict, Majors was dropped from his role as Kang the Conqueror in Marvel Studios projects, a key role that had been positioned as central to the franchise’s upcoming films and television shows.

Majors and Jabbari had met in 2021 while working on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where Majors portrayed Kang, and Jabbari served as a movement coach.

Despite the controversy, Majors has made a gradual return to Hollywood. His film Magazine Dreams, initially shelved after his conviction, was acquired for theatrical release last month. The drama had previously generated Oscar buzz for Majors. In addition, Majors recently announced his engagement to fellow actor Meagan Good at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles.
