Hudson Meek, 16-year-old actor from 'Baby Driver,' has died, following his fall from a moving vehicle

The Jefferson County Medical Examiners Office said on Thursday that Meek was injured by blunt force when he fell from the car in his hometown of Vestavia Hills Alabama. He was injured on December 19 and passed away on Saturday at UAB Hospital.

Meek played “Young Baby” in the 2017 Edgar Wright action film "Baby Driver," playing a younger version of the main character, which was played by Ansel Elgort.

His deaths circumstances are being looked into by the Vestavia Hills Police Department. Vestavia Hills, a suburb south of Birmingham is where the incident took place at the 1900 block of Canyon Road.

On Saturday, a post was made on Meek’s Instagram account which said, “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight.”

The post also said that Vestavia Hills High School will memorialize him with a scholarship fund and a celebration of life on Saturday which will be streamed online. The deceased was a second year student at this school.

Meek's obituary states that he was a sophomore in high school who participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Honor Choir and student government. Additionally, Meek loved being outside playing football and being an Auburn Tigers fan.

"More than anything, Hudson was passionate about his Christian faith," the obituary said. "He loved Bible Study meetings, youth retreats, mission trips, and just being at church.

An active member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, Hudson also attended youth events with friends at Shades Mountain Baptist, Vestavia Hills United Methodist, Mountain Brook Community Church, and any other church he could find with a youth event that focused on Jesus Christ."

He was an organ donor and his family is comforted by knowing that he will continue to help others for years to come according to his obituary.

He was described in the obituary as confident, convicted in his beliefs, spontaneous and quick-witted. It was also mentioned that he had traveled to all 50 US states, played football and loved the woods.
