Snoop Dogg Is The New Owner Of Death Row Records

Almost 30 years ago, under the label Death Row Records, the world was introduced to the one and only Snoop Dogg. Now, nearly three decades later, Snoop Dogg is the owner of the same label that launched his infamous career. According to TMZ, he acquired the record company from Blackstone, an investment firm, and MNRK Music Group.

The label went into bankruptcy in 2006, and has changed owners more than once, since then. In addition to its financial woes, Suge Knight, one of the co-founders, was arrested and is currently serving a 28 year sentence for voluntary manslaughter. Thus, the record label has been in desperate need of new leadership. Snoop Dogg provides that and just in time for his Super Bowl Halftime Show, which will star not only Snoop, but also Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.
